A splendid park which houses the World Trade Organization (www.wto.org), the institute of high international studies and development, and the Museum of the History of Science (http://www.ville-ge.ch/mhs/).

If you follow the lake side as far as possible along the Wilson quay side, you will find the park Mon Repos and its villa which was built in 1848. The story goes that the estate was lent to Casanova during the 18th century who organised erotic parties there. It was then acquiesced by the Plantamour family, and the property was left to the City of Geneva in 1898, thereby becoming the first public park by the lake.

Having previously accommodated the Musée d'ethnographie and the experimental Centre for television, the villa is currently home to l'Insitut Henry Dunant. The elegant little stone pavilion, built around the water, houses the limnology station (the study of physical phenomenon and the biology of lakes) which was established by Philippe Plantamour in 1877.

There is also a small orangery at the back of the park, as well as lots of beautiful trees in the park, many of which are over a hundred years old, there is also a garden of mediterranean plants. There is now also a playground for children, and the restaurant Perle-du-Lac is very close by.
